I am a 58 yr old divorced woman. About 6 years ago, my ex-husband was dying and needed someone to help him thru his illness. He had a heart transplant and is still not well but is better. I worked and helped him and then suddenly, I started having heart trouble and was put out of work on total disability. I need help in finding housing we can afford as I only have an income of $589 per month from SSI and SS. His income is 11,692. It takes everything we make to pay our rent, upkeep our vehicles, buy groceries ect. I don't know if there is any help for us but if we could get into a smaller home with cheaper payments and help with paying some bills. I worked and even after getting sick continued to pay what we could on our incomes as I drew unemployment. Once that ran out there was no extra money to pay them. I don't know how to do this except to be as honest as I possible can. We were living in a 24 ft travel trailer in friends yard but the trailer is in such bad shape as we are it would be impossible to live in again.
